JASON LEE Round-Taiwan Cycling Fund Raising Cycling and Alex Fong 45 kilometers Round-Hong Kong Island Swimming (Strive For Water) Go Together

My Story

Challenge yourself and Create a new height.
A wonderful and beautiful life is regardless of age!

I have spent most of my life pursuing a career in bicycles and have experienced ups and downs. Reaching the age of 60 this year, I have never imagined that Round-Taiwan Cycling Fund Raising can be an important milestone in my life.

Earlier at a dinner gathering, I met Alex Fong (方力申), affectionately called Little Fong, a former member of the Hong Kong Swimming Team. He told me that he was prepared to challenge the 45 km Swimming Round-Hong Kong Island (Strive For Water) on 5 November 2019 by swimming in Hong Kong’s waters for over 12 hours. Such an event is beyond doubt extremely challenging whether in Hong Kong or in Asia. However, Little Fong said to me calmly:
Swimming all-out effort for 45 km for just one reason, that is, to raise funds for the charitable organization A DROP OF LIFE. The target is to raise HK$4,500,000 so as to break the fate of 450,000 people’s water shortage by supplying them with clean drinking water.

After hearing what Little Fong said, I was really struck by his feat which exceeds the limit of one’s stamina. I am sure I can mobilize my friends whether with common interest in cycling or not or even YOU with whom I am not acquainted to do something for the people in Cambodia and Nepal who are in serious shortage of water.

I have been devoting myself in the bicycle business in Hong Kong for more than 40 years. I regularly promote the idea of environmental protection and eco-friendly lifestyle because of my passion in cycling. In the last 10 years, I have also involved cycling in various charitable events so as to repay society through bicycles. It is wonderful to raise funds for charity by means of cycling. The idea to support Little Fong’s good deed has been embedded in my heart since that evening I met him

At last, I made an important decision:

Personally take part in Cycling Round-Taiwan
which is be held on 15 November 2019 in Taichung.
The journey will take 8 days to finish 873 km for fund raising.

Although many people may have cycled round Taiwan before, it is really a challenge for a person like me who has just reached 60 and lacks regular training. Further, my hands have been injured last year and have not yet fully recovered. This may cause some trouble to this long journey. However, having been inspired by the positive energy of Little Fong and despite difficulties, I wish I can support Little Fong to accomplish his great effort in my own way.

It is always not alone to raise funds for charity. Apart from my family and other good friends, the following good friends Dr. Tommy Tong, Ms Connie Wong and Louis Choi Couple who all have benevolent hearts will show their supports by personally taking part in the event. They will cycle with me so that we can accomplish the impossible task together.
